Hello and welcome to the beginning of the new school year. We are happy to say that all the children have now settled well into their school routine.
Here are a few things that might be of interest:
Current Records - It is extremely important that we hold up to date records of your address and contact telephone numbers (including your GP). If you are unsure, please check with Mrs. Surelia.
Website - Parents of new children might want to access our website (www.little-learners.co.uk) which shows some of the initial activities the children do. These photos are labelled Early Activities 1, 2 and 3. They are meant to help children explain to you what materials they play with at school. Please note that the photographs are not exhaustive and the children do lots of additional activities e.g. painting, role play, physical activities, singing, home corner etc.
School Uniforms - Please make sure that all articles of school clothing, including coats, are labelled with your child’s name.
Tesco and Sainsbury Vouchers - Thank you very much to all parents who collected these vouchers last term. We have now got a good range of physical activity toys from Sainsburys. We’ve banked our Tesco vouchers to combine with next year and in order to get something substantial. Thank you to everyone for collecting the Tesco vouchers this term. We look forward to ordering some more fitness equipment.
Solihull Bookstart Programme - All children will be bringing home a Bookstart pack from Learning Resources, Solihull, which will be appropriate for their age. If you have already got the pack from an alternate source (e.g. library or health centre), then please let us know.
Lunchtime sessions - We have installed a microwave in our kitchen, so children are welcome to bring in food in suitable containers to be heated.
After half term we will be re-starting our healthy eating stickers scheme for children who stay all day and bring in a healthy lunch.
Dates for your diary:
The School Photographer - MB Photography will be coming in on MONDAY NOVEMBER 5 to take individual photographs of the children. Please let us know if you would like to bring in siblings to have photographs taken together. You will be under no obligation to purchase the photos.
Cooking – We will be baking shortbread on MONDAY NOVEMBER 26.
Last Day of Term will be FRIDAY DECEMBER 7. Please note there will be no afternoon session on this day, but ALL children are warmly invited to our Christmas party in the morning. There will an entertainer coming in from 9.30 to 10.30 am. This will be followed by plenty of food and drinks (so don’t expect your child to eat too much for lunch!) and party games. Father Christmas will visit the children at 11.45am. Can all children please be collected at 12 noon.
If you know that your child will not be able to make it to the party, please let us know as soon as you can.
Please note that children are welcome to come to nursery in party clothes on the last day.
